Iga Seczkowska

Careers Adviser (careers@buckingham.ac.uk)

Iga works closely with students through workshops, 1-2-1 appointments and other initiatives in order to help them maximise their chances of professional success whilst at university and after graduating.

A qualified careers guidance professional, Iga's experience includes working at another university careers service as well as providing coaching on a social enterprise project, helping individuals with health barriers achieve employment. She is a positive psychology enthusiast.

 

 

Beth Baker

Head of Careers, Employability and Alumni Relations (beth.baker@buckingham.ac.uk)

Beth leads the Careers and Employability Service and the Alumni Relations function. She is responsible for driving continuous improvement in graduate employment outcomes, and in engaging graduates as active members of our alumni community who support our university and students. 

Before joining the university, Beth worked for many years at the global education company Pearson, where she specialised in publishing resources for vocational and applied qualifications. Her professional experience includes management, recruitment, coaching and mentoring. She has also designed and run assessment centres for graduate recruitment and student internship schemes at Pearson and so has first-hand knowledge of what employers look for in graduates.

Dean Jones

Dean is based in our Buckingham Enterprise and Innovation Unit (for more information visit BEIU.co.uk). He is well connected and can introduce students to employers and other organisations in the local region for the purpose of:

  • seeking work experience, placements and employment
  • networking
  • researching career options.

 

Julie O'Shea

Clinical Legal Education Manager (julie.oshea@buckingham.ac.uk)

Julie leads Clinical Legal Education for the Law School and helps students to develop professional skills through: 

  • Street Legal placement programme
  • Citizens Advice Law Clinic
  • Professional mentoring schemes
  • Clinical Legal Education workshops
  • Professional qualification advice - BPTC, LPC, SQE
