We represent you. This means that we make sure students’ interests are at the heart of University policy and decisions. We communicate to the senior leadership team on your behalf, and feed back our work to you. That way, you can hold us accountable and make sure we honour your votes.
We want to make sure that we give you opportunities to shape your own student experience. This means supporting students in creating clubs and societies, as well as delivering a range of activities, and training student leaders.
We think it's important to support students in every positive way possible, and that means running campaigns and raising awareness about issues that matter. We do not attempt to have all the answers, but we are a friendly bunch, and if additional support is needed, we will always aim to signpost you to such sources of support in the wider Student Experience team (you can read more about them on our website).
All about the Students' Union
As a student at the University of Buckingham, you are automatically a member of the Students’ Union.
The Students’ Union team are here to make sure students have the best possible time on campus.
The team is a point of contact for all things outside of your lectures and tutorials. Our responsibilities include the following – we:
- Help coordinate extra-curricular events and activities.
- Encourage good practice on campus, including sports and social events.
- Guide students as best we can.
- Help to run societies on campus.
- Fund some student activities.
- Assist and represent students in disciplinary proceedings.
- Represent student interests to the University Council.
Essentially, we want to ensure you have a brilliant time while you are studying.
Who is a part of the Students’ Union team?
The team is split into 3 groups. These are:
- The Office team
- The Sports team
- The elected Student Union sabbatical officers

How do I get in touch with the SU?
There are LOADS of ways you can get in touch with the SU team:
Our office is based on the ground floor of the OTM (the large building in the centre of campus, by the river).
We have an open-door policy, so if you want to visit us – even if it is just to say hello – our office is open between 9 am and 5 pm.
