Greatest sporting memory
The final whistle blew, and as Goal Keeper, I couldn’t help but smile, remembering the three interceptions in a row that turned the game around. I didn’t think that I was even going to get those rebounds because she was tall I was tired but I persevered. For context I was in yr 10 it just after lunch. Each one felt like a small victory, breaking the opposition’s momentum and lifting my team’s energy. Standing with my teammates, I knew those crucial moments had helped me and my team win!!

Sporting hero and why
Serena Williams is my sporting hero because she broke through barriers in a sport that wasn’t built for her, proving that Black excellence can thrive anywhere. Watching her dominate with 23 Grand Slam titles has shown me the power of resilience, determination, and believing in yourself even when the odds are stacked against you. Beyond her victories, her courage in speaking out for racial and gender equality inspires me to stand tall and fight for what’s right, no matter the challenges. Serena is more than an athlete to me—she’s a symbol of strength and hope.
