Your Journey, Your Pace- Supporting Every Step

As a Mature Student Liaison, my aim is to build a supportive and inclusive environment where mature students can thrive academically, socially, and personally. As a mature student myself, I understand the unique challenges people may be facing when returning to education, I will strive to bring diverse experiences to the academic community. My goal is to create tailored support systems that address people's distinct needs, ensuring mature students feel valued and empowered during their time at Buckingham.

My approach involves:

  1. Personalized Support: I will strive to provide a clear and open channel of communication with the mature students, I will support individuals' needs and circumstances. This will help me offer personalized advice and resources, from academic support to balancing work, family, and studies.

  1. Community Building: I will organize events and activities that facilitate connections among mature students. By creating a strong, supportive network, mature students can share experiences, advice, and encouragement, fostering a stronger sense of belonging during their university experience.

  1. Advocacy: I will advocate for mature students' needs within the institution, ensuring policies and resources are inclusive and accessible. This includes working with faculty and administration to develop flexible learning options where required for special circumstances.

  1. Feedback and Improvement: I will establish feedback channels, such as surveys and group discussions, to continuously assess and improve our support systems. This ensures that the services provided remain relevant and effective.

Through these initiatives, I aim to create an enriching and supportive academic experience for mature students, empowering them to achieve their full potential and succeed in their educational journey.
