Manifesto (Short Version)
I would like to continue my work in creating more opportunities for students to enrich their passions, and supporting students through advice.
My creation of the advocacy based Student-Led Networks has been a huge part of working towards that aim – students have many passions beyond that of their degree and the part time SU officers of the past are proof that some of these passions are to create change on campus for the better. The networks are meant to enhance this by asking “What if more passionate students could get involved with what a part-time officer does?” and “What if the goal to ‘create change’ could be taken beyond just the campus?”. Student-Led Networks have been entirely theory up to this point, and will launch at the beginning of 2024 with the elected Network Leads from this election. I’m confident that I can do the best job in supporting and guiding the Networks as they are a part of my vision for the SU, theory only takes you so far and so I want to make sure that they function the best they possibly can in practice.
Additionally, I’d like to continue representing students at the highest governing levels of the University – I was successful at these levels in pushing the need for more student accommodation on behalf of all of those who have struggled with the limited number of accommodation, especially in January this year.
