To my erudite student peers both in Buckingham and Crewe,
It’s a pleasure to meet you! My name is Sandi, and as a candidate for the role of Medical Officer, I present to you this manifesto in the name of furthering our medical community. Having helped manage 2 of the 4 clubs that ended up being nominated for the 2023 Sports Club of the Year award, I have confidence that my skills and personal growth will enable me to achieve what we set out to do here.
As the Medical Officer, I will be steadfastly dedicated to conveying and pushing for the wants of our collective student body. Greater university acknowledgement of our course’s perspectives in decision-making will be something I will strive for.
Of course, there are further goals I want to accomplish. The last year has seen numerous developments being made for the medical cohort. As such, I’m looking forward to expanding on these in the following ways:
- Ensuring there is adequate student wellbeing support
- Foster connections and ultimately organise events with other medical universities
- Promote interaction between Phase 1 and Phase 2 students
- Provide support to any medical-related student/society-led initiatives
- Organising opportunities for guest speakers to share their knowledge
- Finally, due the success of the recent 2022MEDBALL, I aim to cement this into a long-lasting tradition by holding one at the end of the 2024 academic year
A core belief of mine is accountability. As such, if given this opportunity, I will do my utmost best to further your experience as a UoB medical student.
