Kell Holliman

Hi, my name is kell (they/them)  and i wish to run for LGBTQ+ network lead. If given this position I would focus on making sure LGBTQ+ people feel welcome and safe within the university. To make sure there is an open line of communication to voice concerns and a well informed, supportive network within the university.  No one should have to be scared or uncomfortable expressing who they are and my wish is to make sure this university is a place people don't have to. Everyone should feel free to identify as they wish and love whoever they do without concern, and by voting for me I would ensure with this network of lovely SU members we could make sure of this.

Comfort to express who they are.
No one should be scared, to express who they are. That doesn't just  mean being scared of physical assault, that includes fear of being ridiculed, bullied and left out. All fears many LGBTQ+ people have experienced.

Feeling free to identity as they wish
I want all students to be able to use any pronouns they feel suit them and have that respected by all at the university. Chosen names should be clearly portrayed to lecturers and automatically put on lanyards. Having your deadname called out in public, or written on your lanyard can be a trans person's worst nightmare, and I don't want any students to have to go through that.
