Let's Get Louder!

Alright, I'll keep my ting brief:

This past year, the Student Voice has taken significant steps. Not taking any of that for granted, however, it is time to get the student voice louder. The work I have undertaken tthis year ensures that for the foreseable future the students are effectivelty represented and that your voice gets to the rooms where it matters the most. For the next year, I want to focus on improving the quality of the service we get from the University, the faculties, and even the Students' Union.

With the focus on improving service delivery, I have identified 4 areas that I will be focusing on with your backing:

  1. Accessible Learning, Teaching & Assessments: Covid introduced the world, and higher education to a new normal. The University should not be seeking to return to the old normal, but rather we should be adapting and innovating, especially in recognition of the changing times, where students are now forced to do much more than they had to 3 years ago.
  2.  Effective Feedback Systems: We need to be more transparent and efficient with the feedback we receive. The University needs a central approach to feedback, and I have already begun working on this.
  3. Student-focused utilisation of spaces and resources: Why are the Vinson Building Seminar rooms locked at night? Why can't we have a campus shuttle? How can commuting students participate in learning and socialising just as much as those who live on campus or within the town?
  4. Students' Union as Your Voice on the things that matter most to you: Three words- All Student Forum.
