YOUR voice counts

Do you want to make changes to better your university experience? If so, voting for me will be the way that we can make changes together. I am not afraid to put forward the united voice of the students who are at the heart of the University of Buckingham. Your voice counts.

Since embarking on my degree in January, I have repeatedly encountered small things that made me think “if that was done this way, it would work a lot better”. Having experienced these things for myself, I have no doubts that many other students will have experienced them too. But to make change, we need to make sure our voices are heard.

I possess excellent communication skills, time management, and organisation. When required, I can be bold to make sure I am not ignored. As the Secretary of the University’s cheerleader team, my leadership skills have also developed. Personally, I believe these skills, armed with your input, will ensure we can make everyone’s time at Buckingham unforgettable.

Some of my commitments for this role are:

?            Allowing students to give feedback on teaching, assessment, modules and learning termly.

?            After representing the Buckingham Bullets cheerleading team at the Psychology, Law, and Computing school’s faculty sports day in the summer term, I would like to introduce a similar event for our faculty.

?            I would like to introduce a policy stipulating the time frame a lecturer has to reply to a student’s email as it can be tricky to know when to chase an email up.

?            More timely communication between the faculty and the students as I think that sometimes communication comes at the last minute.

?            Greater academic support on how to write essays and references.
