About

The General Medicine Society (GMS) is proud to continue redefining medical education at the University of Buckingham. We combine innovation, collaboration, and fun to create an enriching experience for all medical students.

What We Have in Store for 2025
This year, we’re excited to present:

  • MedMentor Link (MML): Our highly anticipated mentorship program, where first-year students receive regular teaching, practice, and feedback from second-year mentors. Together, we’ll ensure you’re confident and prepared for the ETA exams.
  • PBL Sessions: Led by senior students, our Problem-Based Learning sessions are designed to make complex concepts easy to grasp. These sessions are famous for helping students explore ideas in a way that truly sticks.
  • Mock Papers: We remain the only society to provide mock papers in the university's ETA-style format, helping students practice under exam-like conditions.
  • Annual Quiz Game Show: This year, we’re launching the first season of our annual quiz game show—a fun, engaging, and challenging event for students to test their medical knowledge in a competitive setting.
  • Relax and Recharge: Regular game nights and relaxation events to balance the intense demands of medical school.
  • Premier Conference: A high-level conference featuring renowned speakers and tailored specifically for Phase 1 students, offering inspiration, insight, and practical knowledge.

Highlights from 2024

  • Interactive Revision Series: Small-group teaching sessions tailored to specific modules, which received excellent feedback.
  • Mock OSCEs: A two-day event that provided hands-on experience and personalized feedback, helping attendees excel in clinical exams.
  • X-Ray and ECG Masterclass: A focused session on these challenging topics, which many students found incredibly beneficial for both their understanding and clinical application.

With much more in store, GMS is here to support you every step of the way. Join us in making 2025 a year to remember! 🚀
