Changing the SU Constitution - Your Vote

In August, you will have the chance to vote on vital changes to the Students’ Union constitution. Learn more about these changes at our information forum on the 12th of August. The meeting will be held on Microsoft Teams, and you will receive a calendar invite from the SU President shortly.

Between the 17th and 21st of August, the student body will vote online on vital changes to the Students' Union constitution. These include:
•    Sabbatical Officers to be in office for a year, so that they have sufficient time to make a meaningful impact, can be elected at the same time each year, and work with continuity with the rest of the University.
•    Finance: the Union should be able to decide its own expenditure, and have an advisory board of key stakeholders.

These changes are driven by the findings of an independent audit that was carried out last year - the above changes were identified as vital and urgent, and are in line with the sector (almost all students' unions in the UK have sabbatical officers serving for a year).

Ask your questions and find out more at the information forum on the 12th of August, to which all students will be invited.
