The University Rugby Awards are held each year and are supported by the Students RFU as well as the RFU. They give the opportunity to reward and recognise the individuals and clubs that give so much behind the scenes to grow and develop university rugby on and off the pitch, bringing the RFU core values to life.
Our Rugby Club President, Edward Hollingworth, has been awarded Student Leader of the Year recognising his fantastic leadership skills and the brilliant work he has done with the University Rugby Club and the links with the local town.
Edward: "I am so incredibly proud to win the Students RFU Student Leadership Award. A huge thank you to my fellow executive team and my team for the support and hard work they have shown this year. Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions."
Our Sports Coordinator, Sarah Ruff, nominated Edward for this award: "Edward has led by example and his enthusiasm for rugby is second to none. He is always looking for ways for the club to develop and should be extremely proud of the work he has achieved so far and I am so pleased his hard work has been recognised by Students RFU".
