Women's Football Club President Update

footballSports

In Summer 2021 the BSU hosted some womens football sesions as a taster to see what interest there was.  As a result of this the first ever womens football club was started in September 2021 and we started to grow as a club.  Thanks to the success of freshers fair in October and January, we now have over 20 paid members made up of students of all abilities.  It has been great to be a part of the sport growing here at the university and I feel honoured to be a part of the first womens football club executive.

At present we are focussing on our weekly training sessions but in the near future we aim to form a competitive 5 aside team as well as potentially playing friendlies with local universities and clubs.  This term we have welcomed a new coach to help us develop as a team and we are looking forward to seeing how far we can go under their guidance.

As a team, we are looking forward to having the opportunity to watch the Women’s Euros in the summer in Milton Keynes. We have been lucky enough to get tickets to a group game and a semi-final.
