Badminton Club competes at BUCS Nationals

Over the weekend of 13th–15th February 2026, three members of our badminton club headed to Sheffield to compete at the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Badminton Individual Championships.  This is a highly competitive event and this is the first time students from Buckingham have competed at the event.

Shim, Badminton Club President: " As a second-year medical student, balancing academic commitments with competitive sport made this opportunity especially meaningful. Competing against some of the best university badminton players in the UK was both challenging and inspiring, and the overall standard of play was exceptionally high.  I competed in Open Doubles against Durham. The matches were intense, with tight scorelines that pushed us to perform at our very best. Although we did not come away with a win, it was an amazing experience to compete at such a high level and represent the university on a national stage.  I am incredibly proud of our effort and grateful for the opportunity — it was a memorable and rewarding weekend of competitive sport."
