Chancellors Cup 2023 took place on Wednesday 23rd August and saw teams from the schools of Business, Humanities and Social Science take on Computing, Law and Psychology as well as Medicine. The three teams competed in a series of sporting events on what was a super competitive afternoon of sport.
The first sport of the afternoon was Volleyball which saw Medicine take two wins from two and Computing, Law and Psychology with the other win. In Ultimate Frisbee; Computing, Law and Psychology took two wins with Medicine taking the other win. It was very close after the two sports rounds with plenty of points still up for grabs.
Next up, was the races. These give each team the opportunity to secure plenty of points with 30 points for a win, 20 for second and 10 for third. Races inlcude skipping, sprints, egg and spoon, bean bag plus mixed relay and obstacle race. This is where Business, Humanities and Social Science came into their own winning 7 out of the 10 races as well as picking up several 2nd and 3rd places. It was all set for an exciting conclusion.
The final event of the day was Tug of War. Computing, Law and Psychology were very impressive in this event with two very clear wins. Business, Humanities and Social Science took the other win. It was an incredible afternoon of competitive sport and the final results are below:
1st place - Business, Humanities and Social Sciences - 460 points
2nd place - Computing, Law and Psychology - 430 points
3rd place - Medicine - 340 points
