On 27th February 2025, the Friends of David Nott Foundation (FDNF) at Buckingham and the Islamic Society at the University of Buckingham came together to host an exciting charity football tournament and bake sale at Swan Pool Astroturf Pitch. As FDNF Buckingham’s first-ever fundraiser, the event was a huge success, with an incredible turnout of players, spectators, and volunteers all supporting a great cause.
The tournament featured six teams—four men’s and two women’s—who battled it out for victory. The atmosphere was electric as players gave their all on the pitch, cheered on by a lively crowd. After some intense matches, Unathletico Madrid took the men’s title, while Goal Diggers claimed victory in the women’s tournament. Medals were awarded to the winners, and standout players were recognized for their outstanding performances.
Alongside the tournament, the bake sale added to the fundraising efforts, offering delicious treats to spectators and participants. The event wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of volunteers, from organising teams and refereeing matches to baking for the sale. A special shoutout to the Islamic Society and the Students Union who were instrumental in making this event a reality.
We would also like to thank Swan Pool and Leisure Centre for allowing us to use their facilities and the David Nott Foundation for supporting us in organising this event.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity and participation, we raised nearly over £250 from the tournament and just under £100 from the bake sale—all going towards the David Nott Foundation, which provides vital surgical training in conflict zones.
This was just the beginning, and with the enthusiasm and support we’ve seen, we’re excited to organise more fundraising events in the future. A huge thank you to everyone who played, donated, volunteered, or came to support. We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
