Crewe Badminton Club hosted its first ever tournament on Sunday 11th of February 2024. We saw some intense matches amongst passionate players across 4 courts in the Lifestyle Centre. We also had two referees handling the entire event, to whom we can credit the smooth running of the entire tournament.
With 6 teams, we were able to host a league-style tournament where every team had a chance to compete against all the others. At the end of these matches, the points table had 4 teams clearly leading. This was followed by two enticing matches in the semi finals where the teams went neck-to-neck as they put in all they had into the games. The final was just as competitive and exciting to watch with a score of 15-12!
Our winners, Isaac and Karan, alongside the teams that placed second and third were presented with certificates. Not just that, the team in first place won a gift voucher worth 30 pounds!
All the participants showed some real skill on the courts last weekend and we look forward to see our players compete in future tournaments!
