Crewe Med Soc take on the Manchester Run!!

crewemedicinesociety

On Sunday 22nd of May, Crewe Medical Society participated in The Great Manchester 10KM Run in order to raise awareness and funds for Cancer Research UK. This event was also particularly memorable for the society as it was our first cross-campus event!

The 5 dedicated volunteer runners from both Crewe and Buckingham campus not only committed to regular training runs but also raised over £140 collectively. This event was open for everyone, and it was great to see 3 Sports Club Presidents from Buckingham Sports Union participating in this event as well as 2 of our own members.

We would like to also thank everyone who were involved in the Crewe Bake Sale event to help our runners raise funds.

Congratulations all runners for smashing the race and for their massive efforts for the Cancer Research UK. Well done!

Special mentions:

  • Buckingham Campus participants – Eleanor Stevens & Ed Hollingworth for driving all the way from Buckingham to attend the event. Eleanor & Ed also managed to raise funds independently despite the challenge of not being able to attend fundraising events held in Crewe.

  • Our executive member Dharan Prabhakar for the best time – 10KM in 46minutes and 55seconds!
