Culture Fest 2025

On the 21st of May 2025, the OTM came alive with colour, music, and celebration as we hosted our first Culture Fest. It was a vibrant collaboration between the Desi Society, African-Caribbean Society (ACS), and Punjabi Society. The event brought together students from all backgrounds to celebrate diversity, heritage, and unity through an unforgettable evening of performances, food, and dancing.

The night kicked off with an incredible line-up of performances that showcased the rich traditions and talents within our communities, from energetic Bhangra and Desi dance routines and musical numbers. The energy in the room was electric, and every act was met with cheers and applause.

We provided a range of food which included Kebabs and Samosas from Lahori student Briyani, Joloff rice from Bee's Grilled Kitchen and Punjabi dessert from De Eiscreme projekt.  As the evening progressed, the vibe shifted into full party mode with our DJ night afterparty. The dance floor stayed packed until late as the beats kept everyone moving which was a perfect end to a truly special event.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all three societies and their members for their enthusiasm and collaboration. Big shoutout to the performers of Desi and Punjabi Society. Special thanks go to Kamva and Annabel for their incredible help with the set-up, and to Blossom and Manav for creating dynamic and engaging social media content that captured the spirit of the night.

And last but by no means least, a massive thank you to Sarah, our SU Manager. Her tireless support and coordination made everything possible; Culture Fest 2025 wouldn't have happened without her.

Here’s to many more nights like this!
