Culture Fest 2026!!

What a week!! From the 18th – 22nd May, we celebrated our diverse student base with our second-ever culture fest celebrations.

We kicked off the week with a takeover of Kamva’s quiz night, in partnership with the Inclusion Network Lead, testing your knowledge on various topics around the world. Congrats to the winning team “Lyle Foster Fan Club”, who took home a £50 prize!
On Tuesday afternoon, the South East and East Asian society hosted the weekly crafternoon, making a variety of different creations in an origami session. On Wednesday evening, we hosted a movie night in the Vinson Auditorium, showing the film “Grave of the Fireflies”. This was a Japanese film, about two siblings during World War 2. Thursday evening saw a Volleyball Tournament take place, with students competing to see who would be crowned Culture Fest champions. Congratulations to “Marawan’s Team” on the win!

To round off the week, we transformed the OTM into a world of good food, performances and plenty of music! A wide range of food from different countries and cultures was available. This included: Sweet and sour chicken, spring rolls, samosas, Gulab Jamun, Jollof, Kunafa and more. After tasting the food, we had performances from our Desi, Punjabi, ACS, Dance and Music societies, before heading into a DJ night to round off a brilliant week!
A big thank you to the societies and sports clubs involved: ACS, Desi, Punjabi, Arab, SEE, and Volleyball. Many thanks to our food suppliers: Dragon Bay Buckingham, Student Lahori Biriyani, Mercy’s Amazing Grace Foods, and Assmaa Kitchen. Thank you also to Owami, for capturing such brilliant photos of the Friday celebrations.
