On 8th March, the Health and Wellness Society set off on a scenic walk to explore the parks surrounding Buckingham. We had about 10 attendees and all 5 executive members were present which was very special because we are all dispersed due to placements. Despite our hectic schedules, we were able to meet on this sunny morning together to embark on this walk.
We saw beautiful greenery on a sunny pleasant day and were reminded that such scenery isn’t just seen in big city parks but also can be all around us.

We started at the Vinson Building before joining onto the Railway Walk from Tingewick Road. From there, we went past the Chandos Road Building and continued onto the Circular Walk. This encompassed crossing London Road and walking through the Badgers housing estate, then into Bourton Park. Once we'd walked through the park, we finished the route by going through Chandos Park, back towards the university campus. Initially, everyone felt daunted by the walk ahead but once we got to it, everyone broke into a light-hearted conversation which really eased the process. It was a great time to catch up with our members!
Bourton Park is a great place for a relaxing walk, offering the chance to enjoy the surrounding scenery while getting plenty of steps in. Since it connects to the park near the Waitrose car park, you can easily extend your walk and cover a good distance. For many of our members, this walk was a wonderful opportunity to discover a hidden gem they may not have known about otherwise.
Overall, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the sunny weather was a bonus too. We look forward to planning more of such events and to seeing you all there in the future!
