Men's Basketball Club Update

BasketballBSUSports

Our Men's Basketball Club are going from strength to strength this year and are back playing in the local league for the first time in 4 years.  They are now half way through the season and have started 2024 with 2 wins from 2.  On Tuesday 30th January they took the win 72 - 64 against East Area Basketball.

On Tuesday 6th February - they took on MK Knights and in what was a very closely fought match the Buckingham Barons held their nerve to take a 74 - 70 win!!  Next up they have 2 matches against Bedford Bulls who so far haven't lost a match.

Said El Chami, Men's Basketball President: "We started the season very strong. There has been a couple of bumps in the road for sure but we’ve gone from being individual players to become a strong team. So far we are 4-4 and have 4 games remaining which makes the aim of the season to end 8-4. Were excited and cant wait to keep fighting for the league title!"

Jeron Johnson, BSU President and Basketball Social Secretary: "It has definitely been refreshing to have the opportunity to represent our University. I am extremely proud of what we have been able to do with a group of players that have never played together before. As we progress we are now getting fully acclimated into Coach Karl’s system which is allowing us to not only win games but play the game the correct way, ultimately helping us to grow as a team. So at the moment we are happy to be doing well but we do understand that the job is not finished. Our goal is to bring the league title back to Buckingham."
