Mock Shaadi 2026: Two Nights, One Wedding, all the Desi vibes
Every great Desi wedding starts with two things: good food and unnecessary competitiveness. Our Mock Shaadi celebrations delivered both in abundance across two unforgettable nights of music, dancing, and memories.
The festivities began with Sangeet Night, where the atmosphere was set from the moment the food arrived. Guests enjoyed a selection of desi favourites, including pakoras and samosas, which disappeared at a rate that should probably be studied by scientists. The mehndi station was also in full swing, with guests showing off intricate designs while attempting (and often failing) not to smudge them moments later. The evening was packed with talent. From energetic dance performances to impressive singing acts, our members proved they are capable of much more than leaving coursework until the last minute. The performances brought incredible energy to the room and perfectly captured the spirit of a traditional sangeet celebration. Of course, the real drama began with the song association game. What started as a friendly competition quickly turned into a battle for musical supremacy between the boys and girls. After several heated rounds, questionable song choices, and some suspiciously fast answers, the boys claimed victory.

Just when everyone thought the celebrations couldn't get any bigger, Reception Night arrived.
Members returned dressed to impress, transforming from students into wedding guests seemingly overnight. The elegant reception atmosphere provided the perfect setting for the final night of celebrations, but it wasn't long before the dance floor became the centre of attention. The DJ delivered hit after hit, keeping the energy high all evening. From Bollywood classics to crowd-favourite bangers, every song seemed to bring more people onto the dance floor. Dance circles appeared out of nowhere, spontaneous performances broke out across the room.

More than anything, Mock Shaadi was about bringing people together. Across both nights, members had the chance to celebrate, perform, meet new people, and create memories that will last long after the decorations have come down.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, performed, volunteered, and helped organise the event.
