Samh competes at BUCS Triathlon

On Saturday 22nd June, Samh Jain, second year medical student, represented the University of Buckingham at the BUCS Standard Triathlon championships that were held in Norwich.  Hear about his experience below:

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to represent the University of Buckingham at the BUCS Standard Triathlon Championships in Norwich. It was inspiring to compete with many talented athletes from different universities around the UK. Whilst I was the sole participant from Buckingham, I hope to see more of our students join in next year. My own race went well, finishing in a time of 2:33. It was a challenging yet rewarding course that I look forward to improve upon and continue to represent the University next year.

I hope to inspire fellow medical students and all students alike by showing that it is possible to balance academics with sports, which can greatly benefit your overall wellbeing.

Sarah Ruff, Sports Coordinator: " I am really proud of Samh for the work and commitment he has shown to his training throughout this year and his enthusiasm to represent the university at this competition.  It is great to see student athletes from Buckingham competing alongside athletes from other universities and I am delighted he enjoyed the experience."
