  • JM asked about how exams would affect this, each term would have exams at the end

Updates from Network Leads: Reflection on previous term

  • CN: events last term, was disappointed that no execs turned up for the IWD event, everything else was positive, worked with women’s football + co, supported with galentines, social media posts during IWD. Plans this term to either work with clubs/societies on female focused events or competition

  • MG: last term was okay, hosted coffee afternoon, discussed the difficulties of engaging with mature students, planning a sip + paint event for this term, Action: Sabbs to look at post highlighting networks/liaisons

  • UOA: absent

  • SEA: didn’t throw an event last term, but has come up with a few ideas for this term, event1: focusing around body positivity and how different cultures view beauty, event2: myth or fact (KG noted that this would be a great social media campaign), event3: games night / movie night (it was noted that some students have been taking the bar’s games out of the OTM) event4: art exhibition, during culture fest? Potentially an external speaker??

  • TDK: last term hosted a networking event that went quite well, had a survey displayed for international students, had a good range of students from faculties attending, planning to host something similar this term, destress type event

  • AS: absent

Updates from Faculty Liaisons

  • JM: been in talks with GM, movie night + meet and greet? Had a complaint regarding his accommodation bond going missing. SEA noted that stealing is taking place again @Bateman, had issues with getting scan exam copies Action: MB to take a look at this

  • GM: absent but sent updates: For FCLP. In April, the NSS survey closes by months end. Another social media campaign & message to students on what the student union’s responsibilities are & has done would be great. I can do this with a poster & email if give green light. Otherwise, I have received a response regarding MCQ results, albeit unsatisfactory. If the students in other faculties on our board could tell me if they have normally receive questions & answers after MCQ’s that would be helpful.

  • SL: absent

  • BB: launching online webinar series for postgrad students, first one is soon (28th April), UALC meeting 29th April + will raise inability to access research resources/websites using email addresses
