Plans + goals for the year

BB: We are in the process of establishing an official PGR society. I’m working on this with Charlotte, I've set up a WhatsApp group for PGRs for easier and wider reach. I'm also reaching out to PGRs individually, We intend to hold online webinars occasionally for PGRs. The next URC meeting is next week Wednesday. I'm monitoring issues like AI guidance, online viva and the availability of external examiners.

GM: Working with liaisons, doing more than last year (SALT meetings, faculties), met with Harin to discuss law + computing, importance of NSS

JM: Bring academic reps closer to his role, ensuring all departments are represented, main focus is how do we get feedback across re exam modules, scanning in documents (5-day appeals), turnaround time reductions. Having a date or time period for assignment results would be good.

CN: Providing support, forum for students to share things that they’re struggling with, previous discussion with getting day off for periods, International Women’s Day plans: Kamva’s quiz night takeover, woman of the day social posts, conference featuring various women (careers, wellbeing, deans, law school, etc), pop up with support to charities

MG: spoken with current mature students about previous events hosted, hoping to get a group of mature students together and do a trip or discuss experiences etc, picnics / coffee mornings

UOA: Men’s mental health, more activities for the guys, rather than more ‘female’ focused events. Guys night in planned (champions league football, beer pong, pizza), men’s mental health day event (?),

SEA: did not attend

TDK: Long term plan is to make a form where people can note issues that international students are facing, either anonymous or with details, supporting students impacted by conflict in countries, signposting them where to go. Short term goal is to host network events, pizza + refreshments etc. Hoping to set up link by end of this month, with this event.
