An update from your Cheerleading Club President - Alice Holden

Despite being online for the majority of winter term the cheer team didn’t fail to deliver. We train twice a week and the majority of the team were persistent at keeping up attendance and improving their skills. It has been difficult not being together and physically helping each other with our practice but despite this, the team (as always) really motivated each other to keep up the good work.

Even though we’ve been online for a while now, we continue to train twice a week, with our coach Portia on Wednesdays and then we run a Thursday session which can include anything from yoga to Zumba to an online social like a quiz/taskmaster.

Our team is our own little family. We encourage, support and look out for each other whenever and wherever we can. It brings me a sense of pride to be President of such an amazing team where every single cheerleader brings something different to our community. I’m so proud of all our members for working hard and managing to keep smiling through everything (even through the dreaded burpees Portia has us do)! We’re all super eager to get back to the gym and test out our new and improved skills we’ve been working on during last term!
