Girls Night In - May 2023

As this was the first Girls Night In of the year, the aim of the session was to provide a safe space with fun activities, whilst also collecting information on current issues facing women on campus. We’ve received some great feedback which will be used to inform projects and future Girls Night Ins.

Whilst the SU always aims to be as inclusive as possible, the main narrative behind Girls Night In is to provide a safe space for our women on campus, originally created after a wave of spiking came through Buckingham. As such, we do keep these events as female only to encourage any female students who may not feel comfortable attending our larger mixed gender events or who have had negative experiences on campus, to come out and socialise.

We recognise that there is also a space for a Guys Night In so this is in the works behind the scenes. Keep an eye out on social media and our website for further details.

Thank you to all of the staff and students who help support this event – looking forward to the next one!
